Knowledge Base & Playbooks
Simple, agent-friendly checklist of what to test, how to name assets, and where to drop future research. This keeps DISPLAY cohesive with FRAME’s channel cards and remote.
Quick Checklists
🖥️
Display
Warm up: run FPS ramp, confirm motion blur/insertion notes.
HDR toggle: play paired HDR/SDR clip and note highlights, black crush.
Banding: run 10-bit gradient, log any steps/contours.
🎧
Audio
Channel ID: confirm callouts hit the right speaker order.
Atmos: check metadata survives playback path; note downmix behavior.
Reference: play stereo track to confirm baseline tonal balance.
Knowledge
🌑
OLED vs LCD
Black Smear (OLED): Near-black pixels respond slowly; look for smearing in the Black Crush ramp.
Blooming (LCD/FALD): Local dimming halos around checkerboard whites; adjust zone aggressiveness.
🏃
Motion
Judder: 24p mismatch on 60 Hz → look for uneven pans in the SDR Judder clip.
Stutter: Instant response (OLED) with low persistence; reduce BFI or interpolation if severe.
🌀
Immersive Formats
VR180: 180° with depth; needs mesh projection to avoid edge warp.
360: Flat sphere; stereo variants use LR packing (SBS).
🔊
Audio Beds vs Objects
Bed (Channel-based): Fixed speaker feeds (5.1/7.1/7.1.4).
Objects: Spatial metadata rendered per device; requires passthrough or Atmos renderer.

Where to put things
YouTube: drop IDs into the placeholders on each card when ready.
Local files: create DISPLAY/media/{video,audio}/ when adding downloads.
Docs: log new sources + notes in SYNK-DISPLAY.md and this page.
